Happy Victoria Day!

In Canada, we celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday the Monday before May 25th, so this year, it's today.  Our long weekend had fabulous weather for the most part.  The sprinkles are just happening now, and they've issued a rainfall warning for tomorrow.  But at least that didn't happen over the long weekend!  We've had every weather system happen in past years, including snow!  This image that says 'Wish you were here!' comes from Free Fresh cardstock that has several vintage postcards on it.  I framed it on yellow cardstock and mounted it on K & Co patterned paper, and added Candi dots for added interest.  Deb :)

Happy Dogs!

The little dogs were so happy to finally get a haircut, after such a long winter with their long hair.  The new-to-us groomer had said that our dogs' breeds didn't need to be groomed, and that long hair doesn't affect their body heat.  What?  Of course it does, because Mikey was getting so hairy that he couldn't even come in the house for much longer than to eat before he would just sit there and pant endlessly.  So they were much hotter with their winter coats on, and plus they look so much cuter with their haircuts.  Minnie is much happier to lay in the sun now too, instead of only laying in the shade.  Our big lab loves the warmer weather too.  She loves to play fetch and when she gets too hot, she goes for a swim in the pond.  Deb :)

Butterfly card

On the Diecuts With a View cardbase, I added a K & Company diecut butterfly onto patterned paper, photo corners (from the yellow EK border a couple of posts ago), faux pearls, 'friendship' tag, and a postage stamp.  Deb :)

You're the Best card

Isn't this little kitty so cute?!  The image came from a manufactured card that I cut out with my postage scissors.  I mounted it onto cardstock and then rounded the corners.  I added paper flowers and faux pearls, and I used my ticket punch on the corners of the cardbase.   Deb :)

Butterfly Collage card

On the Diecuts With a View card base, I added a punched border made by the EK Success punch I received as a gift (thanks again, Michelle!), a large K & Company butterfly diecut, scallop corners made with my EK Success punch, small punched flowers and a butterfly postage stamp.  Deb :)

Friends card

This card was made using Stampin Up stamps.  The hearts were outlined with a Signo pen.  A brad and a knotted ribbon were added as embellishments.  The small pink bracket tab piece is from a Martha Stewart office pad I found in Staples.  I also used my EK Success scallop corner punch on the bottom corners.  Deb :)

Back to Snow...

So after spending the last week of March on Vancouver Island, and seeing how beautiful, green and warm it is, we had to drive back home and see the never-ending snow.  Blah.  A month after Spring officially began and we still have snow in our yard.  It is finally melting but we still have white stuff out there, while our travel trailer sits in the driveway (it was too hard to try and stick it back into the snowbank from whence it came).   This winter, we had so much snow, we now have huge puddles all over the yard, as the water has nowhere to go.  Deb :]
